Junior to Intermediate Technologist

CTA is interested in discussing a possible position with an individual who would be responsible for co-supervision and provision of construction materials testing in the areas of soil, asphalt, and concrete. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervision of junior and intermediate technicians, preparation of technical reports, and maintenance of laboratory and field certification programs. This would also include project management and client/ contractor liaison. All work would be located within the Capital Region.

Skills Required:

• Self-motivated and interested in career growth with CTA;

• T.T./ C.E.T. or higher designation;

• Excellent English written and speaking abilities;

• A minimum of 5 years experience in civil engineering materials testing and geotechnical engineering. Experience within subdivision and/ or roadway construction is considered a requirement;

• Subsurface geotechnical borehole drilling and logging;

• Abilities within the area of soil, asphalt, and concrete testing and interpretation of test results;

• Ability to follow, run, and setup new laboratory and/ or field testing procedures; and

• Prior experience with forensic and investigative work with new and old infrastructure.

Assets or Optional Skills:

• Truck or suitable vehicle for site rounds;

• Laboratory maintenance experience and/ or ability to maintain and repair equipment; and

• Computer abilities (gINT, Excel, Word, and other general computer knowledge.
